Valcoustics prepared a noise impact assessment of the proposed quarry expansion which addressed the on-site operations as well as the off-site haul route. The expansion was to the north of the existing quarry across a regional road. All quarry operations will be moved into the expansion area. John Emeljanow provided expert testimony at the Consolidated Hearing Board (CHB) hearing which started on May 3, 2010 and proceeded until June 1, 2011. The CHB approved the expansion on June 18, 2012. However, final approval was not received until an application for a judicial review of the decision was dismissed on July 10, 2013.
