Ontario’s Centre of Forensic Services is one of the most extensive forensic science facilities in North America, consisting of a 62,000 m2 Forensic Complex to meet the needs of the Centre for Forensic Sciences and the Office of the Chief Coroner and the Ontario Forensic Pathology Service with the facilities and technology to enhance a safe community. The testing of DNA, electronics and toxicology are just some of the uses of modular labs found in the complex. It also includes an interior firing range and a vehicle examination area, both of which required special acoustical isolation. As a member of the compliance team, VCL developed acoustical and vibration performance objectives for the full range of acoustical engineering services, ranging from interior acoustics and mechanical system noise/vibration control to acoustical design briefs for open office acoustics.
