Valcoustics was retained by the Ministry of the Environment (MOE) to complete a draft protocol for assessing sound levels from high voltage electricity transmission lines. The scope of work included: a jurisdictional scan/comparisons of other regional guidelines; review of the scientific literature on prediction and measurement of audible noise from high voltage electricity lines; preparation of a draft protocol for prediction and measurement of audible noise from high voltage electricity lines; preparation of a sample draft MOE checklist; preparation of a sample draft Acoustic Assessment Report; and presentation of the proposed guideline to key government and utility stakeholders.
