for the City of Toronto.
Ontario Building Code Revisions:
When revisions to the Ontario Building Code were being considered
for the 1989 update, we were retained by the Ministry of Housing
to research and compile relevant environmental noise guidelines,
design criteria and techniques in use in Ontario and other jurisdictions,
and propose specific revisions to the Building Code to incorporate
environmental noise control requirements for road, rail, aircraft
and industrial sources, in liaison with Ministry of Housing and
Ministry of Environment steering committee.
Prepared a Dog Noise By-law for the Township
of Mono.
Prepared
Acoustical Design Guidelines for interiors, sound
isolation and noise control for all new construction of Courthouses
in Ontario for the Ministry of the Attorney General.
Prepared
the chapter on acoustics for the Condominium Construction
Guide 1991, jointly funded by Ontario New Home Warranty
Program, Ministry of Housing, and Ontario Hydro.
TransCanada Pipelines Noise Standards (TCPL): Prepared
a review of environmental noise limits/guidelines/regulations for
TCPL, in various jurisdictions; recommended approach to formulating
corporate noise standards including means of determining compliance
and dealing with complaints.
Aircraft Noise Planning Guidelines: Retained by Transport
Canada to formulate guidelines for Transport Canada in dealing with
new residential development in the vicinity of Lester B. Pearson
International Airport. These guidelines related to obtaining agreements
with developers to implement noise mitigation; standardize methods
of addressing building shell sound isolation requirements and ventilation;
and provided wording for aircraft noise warnings to the public. |
